Hi, hillarypat, and welcome to the challenge! I’m so excited we have so many Spanish readers for the challenge! 🙂 HP is a very nice choice, I’ve chosen the series for the same reason, and I finished the first book in winter and the second in April. Can’t wait to hear about your experience with them! It’s a pity you’ve forgotten Chinese, although I can imagine how difficult it is to remember all those hieroglyphs! Maybe you’ll get confident after your Spanish reading and try a smallish, adapted for the beginners book in Chinese? 🙂
I’ve subscribed not to miss your reviews!
Cool- we both chose HP!! I would love to try to read something in Chinese but I’ll have to brush up on some character study before I could attempt it and right now I unfortunately don’t really have the time. I’m so excited for this challenge- I’m hoping to get my copy of the book this coming week! Thanks for subscribing- I’m about to head over and check out your blog!
I wish you luck. I once read the Little Prince in French. However, it has been over 20 years so I think I’m out of practice. I love that you studied Spanish and Chinese. Many people stick to the romance languages. Good for you!
Thanks- I’m really hoping this challenge keeps me motivated to keep with my Spanish!
Hi,
Another Spanish reading participant here! I hope you enjoy reading Harry Potter in Spanish. I look forward to reading your review.
It’s nice to have someone else reading in the same language! I haven’t actually started the book yet- I’m planning on getting it this week. I will be posting a review as soon as I finish, hopefully at least some of it will be in Spanish!
Hello, I’m a fellow challenge participant. I’m excited you’ll be joining those of us trying to improve our Spanish – that’s my goal as well. I picked up Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal from the library for my first attempt too. Nice to know there’s a bunch of us trying HP in Spanish, great encouragement!
Its so cool that so many of us are reading Harry Potter! I am actually in the process of moving cross country so unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to pick up my copy yet but I am hoping to be ready to get started in about a week or two!
